Join us on Thursday, October 1, at Naumes Suncrest Winery for the Well Re(a)d Book Club as we discuss The Dream Hotel, the riveting new novel by Laila Lalami.

What if an algorithm could predict your future crimes from your dreams? When Sara returns home from an overseas conference, she is detained by a government agency that claims its technology has determined she is about to harm the person she loves most. Sent to a retention center alongside other women accused of crimes they have not committed, Sara finds herself trapped in a system where innocence is impossible to prove and every misstep extends her confinement. As months pass, she begins to challenge the corporations and institutions that have stolen her freedom.

A chilling and timely exploration of surveillance, artificial intelligence, personal liberty, and the power of resistance, The Dream Hotel is a thought-provoking read that will spark lively conversation.

Read and discuss the book before Laila Lalami visits the Rogue Valley the following week as part of Banned Books Week at the Jackson County Library in Medford. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with her work alongside fellow readers and then hear directly from the author herself.
