PHil Meyer
PRESIDENT
Phil joined the Board in 2023. Current President/CEO of SOPBS, before which Phil was President and CEO of Valley PBS in Fresno, California. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and his Master of Business Management degree from University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He also received his Certification of Nonprofit Management from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Sue Collins
Vice President
Sue Collins brings over 40 years of experience in the education and technology fields. Sue is well-known for her ability to bridge education, technology, and policy. In 2000, she was appointed by President Clinton to the Web-based Education Commission and was named by eSchoolNews as one of the top 30 movers and shakers in education. Sue now resides in Medford, OR and is sharing her gifts with JCLF.
Nate Galvin
Secretary
With over 10 years of experience in digital advertising, Nathan has acquired expertise in several areas, including product strategy, brand awareness, and digital marketing solutions. Nathan's most recent role at Gannett | USA TODAY has seen him managing a dedicated team in the Western region of the United States, where they are focused on all things digital for the Gannett | USA TODAY network and its local papers in-market. Prior to this role, he worked for various companies, including Bear Creek Advertising and ThriveHive, where he provided digital advertising solutions and managed various product support teams. He also had previously served as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Air Force for five years.
Jeanett Marquez
Treasurer
Project Manager – Rogue Valley Manor: The mission of JCLF resonates deeply within Jeanett, and she strongly believes in its ability to make a positive impact on our community. Her experience in leading diverse teams and carrying out intricate projects, she has the abilities to skillfully plan, organize, and execute initiatives, making her an effective contributor to the library foundation's strategic objectives.
Patty Vanikiotis
Board Member
Patty is a born and raised Oregonian and received a bachelor’s degree in Language Arts and Theater from the Oregon College of Education (Western Oregon University) and pursued graduate work at Ohio State University in theater. After marrying and returning to Oregon, she followed her love of reading and literature into a career as a secondary English teacher and, for the past 25 years, as a writer, copy editor and proofreader. For the past 16 years she has served as the associate editor for Global Traveler magazine and FXExpress Publications, Inc. The Rogue Valley has been her home for 15 years, and she believes libraries provide an invaluable service to our communities and are essential institutions in a thriving democracy. She welcomes the opportunity to support the Jackson County Library System by contributing to the Jackson County Library Foundation’s work
Meghann Walk
Board Member
Meghann Walk is General Manager at Hummingbird Estate. Before joining her family's winery, Meghann was the Library Director at Bard High School Early College in New York City and an associate of Bard College's Institute for Writing & Thinking. She has an MSLIS from Simmons College and a Certificate of Advanced Study from the University of Illinois. She is on the board of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and Rogue Valley Vintners and serves on the marketing committees for the Jacksonville Chamber and the Jacksonville Wineries Association.
Susan Kiefer
Ex Officio Board Member for JCLD
Ms. Kiefer, a transplant to Jackson County from Minnesota, brings a background Library Science, law, and activism to the Board.
Ginny Auer
Executive Director
As an experienced non-profit executive, Auer brings management and fundraising skills, along with a passion for the JCLF mission of building community support for the library, to her role.
Auer’s background includes leadership positions at the ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum and Southern Oregon Film and Media. She served as development director for four different Southern Oregon non-profits. She has also worked as a non-profit consultant and served on boards of directors. She brings more than ten years of experience in all areas of storytelling as a filmmaker, writer, actor, and narrator.
